Fees
- Fees for counselling sessions are $225 per 50-minute session or $112.50 per 25-minute session.
- Fees for writing a diagnostic letter for school or other medical professional are $225 per hour.
- Assessment services vary in length, depending on the nature of the referral question, and cost as follows:
Full psycho-educational assessment: $2700
Gifted Assessment – Cognitive (appropriate for Westmount Charter School application): $700*-1200
Gifted Assessment – Cognitive and Academic (appropriate for GATE application): $700*-1900
*If after completing the cognitive portion of a gifted assessment, the student is found not to meet gifted criteria, parents have the option to discontinue the assessment process and opt out of the full report for a reduced fee of $700
Payment Options
Payment is required at the start of each session, and can be paid by insurance, most major credit cards, debit, e-transfer, or bitcoin. A current credit card is required on file prior to booking a session.
Insurance Coverage
Fees may be covered, all or in part, by your health insurance provider, and it is recommended that you contact your provider to ask whether or not your particular plan includes coverage for services provided by a registered psychologist. I am able to direct bill to a number of insurance providers including Alberta Blue Cross, Canada Life, Green Shield, and more.
Tax Deduction
Any amount that is not covered by an extended health care plan may qualify as a medical expense that may be deducted from your income tax.
Missed Appointments and Cancellations
Your appointment time has been reserved for you and/or your child. If you need to reschedule your appointment, 24 hours notice is required. If cancellations are received with less than 24 hours notice, you will be responsible for paying the hourly rate for that appointment time.
