Fees are set in accordance with the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta Recommended Fee Schedule which is $200 per hour.
Assessment services vary in length, depending on the nature of the referral question, and typically cost as follows:
•Full psycho-educational assessment – Typically 8-12 hours, or $1600-$2400
•Gifted Assessment: Westmount – 2.5 to 5 hours, or $500 to $1000
•Gifted Assessment: GATE – Typically 2.5 to 9 hours, or $500 to $1700
*If after completing the cognitive portion of a gifted assessment, the student is found not to meet gifted criteria, parents have the option to discontinue the assessment process and opt out of the full report and feedback meeting for a reduced fee
Payment can be made by most major credit cards, debit, cash, or e-transfer.
Fees may be covered, all or in part, by your health insurance provider, and it is recommended that you contact your provider to ask whether or not your particular plan includes coverage for services provided by a registered psychologist. I am able to direct bill to a number of insurance providers.
Any amount that is not covered by an extended health care plan may qualify as a medical expense that can be deducted from your income tax.
Missed Appointments and Cancellations
Your appointment time has been reserved for you and/or your child. If you need to reschedule your appointment, 24 hours notice is required. If cancellations are received with less than 24 hours notice, you may be responsible for paying a portion or all of the hourly rate for that appointment time.
